INGLÉS 3 (MIÉRCOLES)

 Hi everybody!

Hope you are doing well!

Let´s go on revising the future tense.

In English, there are several ways of talking about events in the future.

Be Going To is used for intentions and predictions based on current circumstances.

Simple Future Will is used for promises, requests, instant decisions, predictions and future facts.

Present Continuous  is used for arrangements, when it’s about a plan with a specific time and date.

I leave you a video where you can state the differences between them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8L2m8TeIWA

After watching this video let´s start with PRESENT CONTINUOUS as future.

This is a tense that we have already seen but for the present.

The structure is the same as for the present, but we can use it for future arrangements, as well.

So, let´s start reading some Facebook messages and put them in order, page 22 (exercise 1B).

Then, in exercise D we are going to match the highlighted words in the conversation with the definitions:

E.g. FOR A LONG TIME: FOR AGES.

After that we are going to listen to the audio and complete the information about Lili´s flight (audio 1,62).

Finally, we are going to practice saying dates (exercise 1A, audio 1,61).

That´s all for now!

Take care and stay safe!

Mrs. Valeria.

LET´S TALK ABOUT FOOD.

Let´s watch a video. It´s about some people who go to a restaurant together.

VIDEO

After the video, let´s read about a traditional English meal: fish and chips.

Every town in Britain had its fish 'n' chip shops. No British town is more than 150 km from a sea port, and most are much closer. Once railways were built in the nineteenth century, fresh sea fish could easily be bought in all British towns. Cheaper than meat, sea fish became a popular source of protein. By 1870, "fish and chip shops" were springing up all over the country. For a hundred years, they were the classic popular restaurant, British style.

Les acercamos un ejercicio de escritura, en realidad, es el tipo de escritura que ejercitamos más: la escritura en el celular.

https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/skills/writing/pre-intermediate-a2/messaging-to-cancel-a-plan

Se trata de escribir para cancelar un compromiso.Tenemos frases útiles, y luego hay que clasificar las frases en dos grupos. Después, un verdadero - falso. Y así la tarea, poco a poco, se va complejizando. Tiene varias partes.

Good luck!
